We rolled through the New Year and are in the middle of winter. Been really cold, not much in the way of snow, just nuisance. The girls are taking it all in stride, still laying eggs and getting out when possible. We have had some vultures in the area and I hesitate to let them out when the vultures are nearby. One day the vultures were all on the ground between the girls and the coop. I had to go chase them away and lure the girls to safety. Glen read that vultures rarely attack live poultry but since road kill has been slim this winter, I'm taking no chances. Birthday #1 is coming in March, I think we might have a party. I have quit my job to take care of my sweet grandchildren and I will be able to spend more time with the animals and other interests. I will probably be able to post more often as well.
